Jim Moir AKA Vic Reeves with ‘Goldfinch’ one of the first paintings to sell from his current show and just peeping over his shoulder is ‘Waxwing’ which he painted on his hugely popular Sky Arts tv show Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy. It’s been wonderful to see all of our visitor’s enthusiasm for Jim’s bird paintings with many of you saying what a joy it is to watch him paint these on camera and what an incredible eye for detail he has. We’re thrilled that our new Jim Moir exhibition features his original Bug Colour Wheel painting. There is a print of this painting currently on display in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London and everyone has been very excited to come to Penzance to see the original painting from which that print was taken. The painting features 147 original watercolour paintings of bugs and it took Jim weeks to complete. Everyone in the gallery is having fun spotting their favourite insect 🐞 You have until 15th August to come and see this incredible painting alongside all of Jim’s other works.…
