Neil Pinkett - Travels in Britain
Neil Pinkett is a full time practising artist based in Cornwall. With numerous solo exhibitions throughout the UK and a touring exhibition in America behind him, he is fast becoming one of the most prominent painters in the country. Neil is one of the few artists living and working in Cornwall who was actually born in the county, in the most westerly town of Britain - St. Just. He spent much of his childhood years exploring the beaches, fields and clifftops and this integration with the area from such an early age led to a deep, intimate knowledge of the sea and coastline. It is his dramatic oil paintings of Cornish cliff and seascapes that he is perhaps best known for, but Neil has always travelled and painted outside of Cornwall and continues to interact with the landscape in distinctly personal and unique methods. Whether painting from an easel on a specially adapted canoe or on a cycle trip that takes him from Scotland to Cornwall, Neil strives to bring together his love for painting and the outdoors in ever more exciting and innovative ways. This collection of work encompasses stretches of landscape across the British Isles in a variety of locations including Cornwall, Bath, the docks at Liverpool, Arran and Skye and the Lake District amongst others. The exhibition will also include a number of watercolours and copies of the new book Neil Pinkett - Travels in Britain will be on sale throughout the show as will a chance to view the accompanying dvd showing Neil at work out in the landscape and painting in the studio.
We hope you will be able to join us for this very exciting new exhibition of work from one of the countrys most exciting contemporary landscape painters.
