Alasdair Lindsay, House on the Beach acrylic on board, 30 x 30cm
£1050

Alasdair Lindsay was born in Chester in 1975 and studied Fine Art at Falmouth College of Art, graduating in 1999. He chose to settle in Falmouth as the harbours, docks and coastline of the area had become a constant source of inspiration for his paintings.
Since graduating, his work has been exhibited regularly in Cornwall and at Brian Sinfield in Oxfordshire and Thompsons Galleries, London. Highlights of his career thus far include a commission of 12 paintings and 312 prints of those paintings for permanent display on the luxury Cunard Liner Queen Mary II and winning second prize in the Hunting Art Prizes 2004 out of 1800 artists.
He now lives on the coast at Hayle in Cornwall.
I sketch on site, although I usually paint from memory and through experimentation. My studio work is down to decisions based on instinct rather than theory. Often the subject of my painting becomes secondary to the emerging pattern of abstract areas, which must be evaluated and perhaps edited for the sake of the overall composition.
