Fiona Millais

Fiona Millais graduated from University of Newcastle with a degree in Fine Art in 1984. Her work has been extensively exhibited at venues including Thompson’s Gallery and Thackeray Rankin Gallery in London and The Royal College of Art. In 2004 she was commissioned for the P&O Cruise Liner “Arcadia” to produce 8 large works including one painting which is 8 metres in length. Fiona is the great-granddaughter of the pre-Raphaelite painter Sir John Everett Millais.

“This series of paintings is inspired by spring in Cornwall - the citrus greens and yellows of the daffodil fields, the fresh patchwork of small farms under the dark moors and of course the salty sea air. I love the juxtaposition between the sea and the land, the inherent wildness beside safe havens.”
