I press my lips against her name
Two hundred words we live in hope
The sky hangs heavy with rain”

Many of the paintings and printworks in the exhibition ‘Cold White Envelope’ draw upon the theme of anticipation. The work has emerged over the course of a year taking inspiration from films, photographs and lyrics, layered with experience, until images took hold. Many of the figures in the pictures live in hope, while they wait in the shadows. Others are more exposed.
